Non-existence of finite energy solutions for the Ginzburg-Landau equations

Abstrakt:

In this talk, I intend to discuss non-existence of solutions for the Ginzburg-Landau equations in the plane. The Ginzburg-Landau equations involve a non-linear Schroedinger equation with magnetic field. I will discuss relevant assumptions on the magnetic field which provide non-existence results, together with examples of solutions having infinite energy. A proof based on a standard spectral inequality for magnetic Schroedinger operators will be presented as well.
