Foredrag for studerende

Abstrakt:
What's the difference between Rubiks Cube and the 15 Puzzle? What do groups, graphs and equivalence relations have in common? How can I do algebraic topology in non-connected spaces? How do I construct C*-algebras from non-invertible dynamical systems?

All your questions will be answered in this introductory talk on groupoids. The talk will be Friday-afternoon-friendly, so lots of examples, many illuminating drawings, and no proofs or technical calculations. The talk should be accessible to anyone with basic knowledge of groups (i.e. the course in Algebra).
