Peter Jørgensen receives DNRF Chair from the Danish National Research Foundation
Peter Jørgensen has been awarded a DNRF Chair from the Danish National Research Foundation, which is just the second overall since the instrument was launched in 2020, and the first awarded to Natural Science. The accompagnying grant of DKK 8 million, together with an AUFF starting grant, gives Peter the opportunity to establish the group "Aarhus Homological Algebra", a continuation of a similar activity at Newcastle University from which Peter came prior to his employment here.
At the end of 2021, Peter Jørgensen will, according to plan, have set up a group consisting of 4 postdocs and 2 PhD students. The first arrivals are:
- Karin Jakobsen – starting as a postdoc as soon as Corona permits, funded by the Norwegian Research Council.
- Amit Shah – starting 1 March 2021 as a postdoc funded by AUFF.
- Carlo Klapproth – starting 1 April 2021 as a PhD student funded by AUFF.
- Jennifer Louise August – starting 1 September 2021 as a postdoc funded by DNRF.
