I will present the definition of factorization algebras using Ran spaces and the geometric construction of such algebras using Beillinson-Drinfeld Grassmannians. The emphasis will be on describing the objects and consequences of their properties. Construction of these objects and proof that they possess the properties will be carried out in the main talk.
