As a preparation for the seminar talk the following day, I will discuss some background on the cscK problem in Kähler geometry. The end goal is to try to explain some overall philosophy and key steps involved in perturbation problems for this equation. In these problems, one starts with a cscK metric, changes the geometric situation a little bit, and the goal is to produce another cscK metric in this new situation.
