There is a well-known evaluation map from Hecke algebras in affine type A to those in finite type A, which allows us to pull back representations of the former to the latter. In this talk, I will explain how to categorify this to a monoidal functor from affine type A Soergel bimodules to the bounded homotopy category of finite type A Soergel bimodules, and give some applications to 2-representation theory.
